Program Description

This 28-week diploma program enhances the certificate of fashion design courses and further elevates your skills and knowledge. This program continues to dissect more complex garments using more advanced patternmaking and design knowledge. Students will improve their eye for proportion and line while also learning to drape on industrial dress forms. Students will also refine their skills and knowledge using portfolio theory to inspire themselves and create garments ready to meet their target markets.

Full Description

In the 28-week program, you will focus on many different garment wear. The learning environment is similar to many industry standards, practices and facilities. The program’s diversity exposes you to more specific subject areas, such as fashion show implementation, portfolio diversity, draping, men’s pattern drafting, jeans, personal fitting, coat apparel, knitwear, traditional tailoring and mass production. We offer courses that are current to today’s fashion movements, including Industrial production, personal pattern drafting and couture sewing. 

Motivated students will showcase their work at our finale year end fashion show. As part of the program, you will also have the opportunity to network with industry professionals, visit site related businesses, participate in many group related assignments and work on applied research projects.

Note: This is a full-time program, 4 days a week. Enrollment is continuous but with limited seating availability. Refer to continuous enrollment start dates and available seats.

Program requirements: All classes are in person. This program requires you to have access to a personal laptop and reliable internet access to enhance your learning experience.

Admission Requirements For Logan College

Applicants are selected based on their overall academic performance and ability to meet the program’s entry criteria as outlined below.

  • Successful completion of Grade 12 (or equivalent) from a recognized secondary school.
  • minimum of one English language course at the Grade 10 level (or equivalent).
  • basic understanding of mathematics at the secondary school level is recommended.
  • Computer literacy, including basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, is strongly recommended.

Mature Applicants:
Applicants who are 19 years of age or older and who have not completed Grade 12 may be considered for admission as mature students. Mature applicants may be required to complete an English and Math assessment or provide evidence of equivalent skills and knowledge.

Important:
Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee acceptance. Logan College carefully reviews each application to ensure that students are well-prepared for their chosen program.

Note:
Students who begin their program in January (Winter Intake) may be required to continue their studies through the summer months (May to August) to complete all program requirements.

International Students
At this time, Logan College does not accept international students or issue study permits under the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) program. All applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or individuals legally authorized to study in Canada.

Admission Process Summary
At Logan College, applying is simple and personalized. Students can submit their application online or through our Admissions Office, along with proof of high school completion and valid photo identification. Mature applicants without a high school diploma may complete an English or Math assessment to demonstrate readiness. Once your application is reviewed, successful candidates receive a Letter of Acceptance and can confirm their seat by submitting a registration deposit.

Step 2: Provide Supporting Documents
